8March 2022Any company in the industrial space, including power generation, renewable energy, transportation, manufacturing, and others, faces steep challenges with increasing demand, complex supply chain delays, and enhanced awareness of employee and product safety. The Stat-X® condensed aerosol generator for fire suppression enables our customers to deploy cost-effective, environmentally responsible, compact, and proven fire suppression for their most challenging fire hazards. In particular, the renewable energy sector is growing rapidly and requires appropriate product safeguards to ensure end-user and public confidence while helping to meet carbon emission reduction goals. The Stat-X system supports this industry and helps enable the global green movement.Stat-X fire suppression is an advanced aerosol technology that protects against enclosed special hazards. Aerosols are an effective new alternative to traditional special hazard fire protection. Stat-X fire suppression is currently used worldwide in many critical applications. Stat-X should be considered when evaluating the use of halon substitutes, CO2, inert gas, dry chemical, or water mist. Stat-X fire suppression is an approved halon replacement and hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) alternative.Lance Harry, P.E., CEO and President of Fireaway Inc., has tremendous experience across a broad platform of fire suppression technologies and functional roles. Exercising a `hands on' approach with engineering, operations, product development, and sales teams has helped the business grow and evolve to operate efficiently and serve customers as effectively as possible. Lance is a natural leader who works with customers and all levels of the organization to quantify challenges and drive toward value-added, sustainable solutions quickly. The Stat-X aerosol fire suppression solutions significantly reduce weight, space, and maintenance, providing safe and superior fire suppression. The Stat-X system is a unique technology enabling superior fire suppression performance, with relatively simple installation and maintenance. Each generator is modular in nature, can be quickly wall or ceiling mounted in the protected space and either connected back to a central fire suppression control panel OR, can be fitted with a thermally triggered actuator, that requires no external power. There are NO PRESSURIZED CONTAINERS typically used in other special hazard fire suppression solutions, which by their nature present safety concerns, maintenance headaches, and take up a large footprint of space.According to Lance, they should be automatic for fire suppression systems to be most effective. The Stat-X system can be activated in 2 distinct ways, each with several variations. First, the system can be electrically activated, using a central control panel. The panel would be wired to any number of fire detection devices, such as smoke detectors, spot heat detectors, linear heat detectors or even optical flame detectors. The control panel signals the Stat-X units to activate when the detection system is triggered. Second, the Stat-X generators can be fitted with thermally operated actuation heads, that will internally trigger, when they reach a predetermined temperature. "We have 3 different actuation temperatures based on different types of applications. These systems are typically used in a single generator application," says Lance. "These are a great solution for electrical cabinets or small storage areas."Fireaway has invested heavily in the research, testing, listings, and approvals of Stat-X aerosol generators. The results speak for themselves; their aerosol density efficiency, quality manufacturing and network of trained, expert designers and installers worldwide are second to none. The system is environmentally sustainable and more cost-effective than a conventional special hazard system for industrial applications. "We are especially proud of the work we are doing protecting Energy Storage Systems, a vital part of realizing global emissions reduction goals."Fireaway provides access to custom design support software for all their authorized distribution partners. They have recently transitioned to 100% cloud-based platform that enables quick, easy access to this key tool from almost anywhere. In December 2020, the American Innovation in Manufacturing (AIM) Act was signed into law. The law required the US EPA to establish a phasedown schedule for importing and manufacturing Hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) for all sorts of applications. The EPA mandateincludes the use of HFCs in fire suppression. HFCs have been a staple fire suppression chemical over the past 30 years. Now, companies and engineers are looking for alternatives to ensure a seamless transition to an environmentally sustainable solution. Fortunately, Stat-X can provide this solution. With products like FM-200® and FE-25TM being phased out of production and importation, alternatives like Stat-X will be more readily deployed in many different applications.
